When I checked the game, nothing showed up. The launcher window would advise me the content was installed, but when the launcher was closed and opened again nothing had installed. #Launcher wont download ikingssgc installIt kept advising me 'the package could not be found'.Īfter a few attempts to install content, it stopped installing anything at all. When I checked to see if what was installed was present in the game (it was present), the launcher could not uninstall what it had just installed. After contacting EA for advice and using the utility EA suggested to uninstall the game and doing a clean install, the launcher then installed content in the downloads folder, but only selectively and without any consistency. The following occurred, as I attempted to describe above. It kept advising me I needed to download updates for the game. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. I see I am not the only person to have discovered the wonders of launcher's many glitches. Not sure if this is a contributing glitch to the launchers new-found inabilities? Since about three days before the "Great OS Reinstall" I was also receiving a launcher script error Line: 0 Char: 0 Error: Script Error Code: 0 URL: The script error is continuing after the "Great Reinstall", so it's been there for about a week altogether now. Now it will not install even a single item from the in-game downloads folder. To clarify, the installer should be able to install up to 6 single item sims3.pack items, or one sims3.pack set/compilation at a time, and given all the problems I have been having I have not attempted to install more than that. Closing the game, re-downloading the content to the game, and then attempting to install from the Sims 3 downloads folder has not made a difference to the launcher's new-found inability to install store content. However, I cannot install any downloads I have already downloaded and saved, regardless of whether or not the game is loaded. I did find however even after that, that when the game was running and open in the main menu, and if I downloaded something at that time from the store, the launcher automatically installed it into the game. Then it stopped installing anything at all, then advised me I needed to download the correct updates. The launcher then installed content selectively, I checked to see if would work in-game, then the launcher could not uninstall what it had just installed. I rang EA for assistance and was advised to remove the game and Origin using RevoUninstall and reinstalling Origin and The Sims 3. It eventually updated to 1.69 *something*. I removed and reinstalled the game and Origin several times using EA guidelines for removing Sims 3 and Origin registry items. I did a reset of the Sims folder in My Documents. ![]() After this latest OS and game re-install, the launcher refused to install store content. #Launcher wont download ikingssgc softwareI have the exact same OS I as before (Windows 7 fully updated), the same hardware, the same OS updates from Microsoft, the same software programmes, and the same Sims 3 game installed from the same discs. So far I have only installed the base game because I am having real trouble with the launcher installing store items. #Launcher wont download ikingssgc windowsI needed to reload Windows again 2 days ago (the Great OS Reinstall) and reinstalled Sims 3. I am thankful for the insights and suggestions I have found here and on the Sims 3 forums. I have had this game installed on my computer for a long time now and have found workarounds for the game's many glitches. ![]()
